On July 20th, 2009, Marcellus Tryk crashed on W. 17th Ave., just west of Lincoln St., in Eugene. He died of his injuries two days later at River Bend hospital. On August 23rd family and friends placed a ghost bike at the site of the crash. “We just want the entire world to know and remember him, and to raise awareness about sharing the road and bicycle safety." said his siter Lois Tryk.
