Ghostbike installed April 30, 2008.

On April 27, a 20-year-old woman waiting at a red light with her bicycle in the 22nd district of Budapest was struck and killed by an overtaking car that went straight in a lane designated for left-turns. The car was driven by a 26-year-old young man.

Three days later, about 25-30 cylcists rode in pouring rain to install the memorial.
