Our Friend Zach
Today we held a ghost bike memorial for our friend Zach who was taken
from us by a reckless driver while we were riding around the island. It
saddens me to write this entry because there’s just no words that can
express the emotions and feelings that all of our group and Zach’s other
friends and family have gone through in the past few days. This has
been the longest week ever and it’s still not done yet, with Christmas
around the corner.
I don’t want to go into details about everything that has happened;
ultimately, we have lost such an awesome friend who can never be
replaced…
Zach, I know you’re up there looking down and smiling at all of us.
It is truly a blessing and an honor for me to have met you and I don’t
think I have ever met someone so genuine, so pure, so perfect… You had
so much ahead of you, I’m just so sorry that you weren’t able to do
everything that you wanted to do here on this earth. However, after
listening to the stories that your friends shared, I can truly say
you’ve already done so much and made such a heavy impact on everyone
you’ve met. Thank you for doing everything you’ve done, you make me
realize that there is good in this world and I can only hope to be half
the person you are.
We’ll ride again someday, rest in peace.
